In the end... the most important thing I was trying to say is that you need to think hard when you version things... it's not as simple as just revving versions each release. The version of a component is tied to the functionality it provides for people :)</description>

Always sanity check a version change. Designate a Version Master...make someone directly responsible :-)

In Ant land we slipped up and incorrectly rev'd the minor version, other components have automatic tooling to bump their baseline requirement for the  Ant plug-ins (??), and we caused all kinds of problems with builds in the endgame of 3.4 :-)</description>
