on Sep 11th, 2008ESE Submissions

Ok, so the Eclipse Summit Europe (ESE) program committee blogged and mailed a bit to encouraged submissions for the conference coming up in November.  Well, we got what we asked for. You really knocked yourselves out on this.  Submissions closed a week or so ago and we had well over 200!

This week the PC has completed the first pass over the submissions with each PC member looking at every submission!  There is a lot of great stuff in there.  I learned things just looking at the abstracts.  Thanks!

Picking from this list is extremely challenging.  We have only 48 hours of talk slots available between long talks, short talks (30min) and demos (20min I think).  That means roughly 60 submissions will be accepted.  Honestly, it is going to take more time than we thought…

In any event, with the quality and diversity of the submissions I’m sure that ESE will be a fantastic event again this year. For those who have never been, I strongly urge you to check it out.  Its a relatively small event, very intimate, a great venue and super content.  See you there.
